I found it tremendously interesting! Your notion of BGP merging the 
diplomatic and digital-communications senses of protocol is really 
insightful. Especially as US-centric Internet governance norms are 
coming into question in the wake of Snowden's leaks.

Claus's initial post was also quite remarkable and deserved such a 
response. He's quite an expert on cybernetics, though perhaps not so 
well known in English-speaking lands.
