[iDC] 1. Some notes on value...

Thanks Steve for relaying that FakeSteve Jobs post. Its pretty cynical,
but it hits reality and is counter to any kind of false optimism that
plagues the Open Source and Open Design world especially when things are
played out in theory. What the people that DO want to promote the P2P
revolution need least is self - deception.

I think there is a lot of thoughts going on in many minds to assure
quality and excellence of Open Design, not just in Software, but in any
field of information driven material production. Maybe some people in this
list can describe social innovations really assuring overall quality and
useability in Free Modes. Thats what I am concerned most at current times,
that you cannot just simply rely on developers narcissistic viewpoints
when it comes to design and useability.

But where is any kind of open design activity including software that has
managed to really engage in a substantial and productive dialogue with
users, distributors, supportes,  that outperforms and outrules IP based
competition in a complete field of human production? What would we need to
get there?
