Hi. Awesome list!
I'm David Weinberger. I write about the Internet's effect on how we
understand ourselves and our world. I've been at Harvard's Berkman Center
for Internet & Society for 10+ years, and until last week was co-director
of the Harvard Library Innovation Lab. My latest book is *Too Big to
Know. *Before
that was *Everything is Miscellaneous, Small Pieces Loosely Joined, *and *The
Cluetrain Manifesto* (co-author).
My background is in academic philosophy, but that was a long time ago, and
I mainly worked in Heidegger, so that by itself rules me out of most
philosophical conversations. I've also been a marketing guy and consultant
to tech startups, an occasional failed entrepreneur, and early blogger, etc.
Through November I'm working on an open metadata server/platform for
Harvard Library. In the spring semester I'll be a Shorenstein fellow at
Harvard and will teach a course at Emerson.
I think I'm starting a book about what I think are important changes in how
we think about the nature of the future -- its temporality, not its
"content."
I'm a lurker on this list, so I will now go back to keeping quiet and
learning.
