*Experimental Intermedia Salon*: Barbara Held + Richard Garet - at Various/Artists Monday 30*
9 Movements is a collaborative audiovisual work that evolved from a mutually agreed upon durational structure; the sound by Barcelona-based Barbara Held was the result of several months of intensive experimentation to create a hybrid sonic fusion by blending and modulating the timbre of the flute with the pure frequencies of a small MOOG synthesizer; barbaraheld.com
Currently South-Florida-based Richard Garet's moving image creations strike an intricate balance between beauty and unease; his exploration focuses on the essence of material sources and the intricate processes of image composition, emphasizing luminosity, color, movement, and real-time light phenomena; www.richardgaret.com
